Pet portraits make wonderful gifts for friends and family, or even just for yourself.

I like to paint detailed watercolour portraits based upon photographs of animals. My preferred format is 8"x 6" paper size, and portraits are supplied mounted for a 10"x 8" frame. I am happy to discuss your requirements if you prefer an alternative size or mount.

I paint from photographs of the animals supplied by you. When choosing photographs, please make sure the animal is outside, or in a well lit room, with an unobscured view of head and shoulders. Natural lighting is best, rather than camera flash. There should be plenty of light in their eyes to best capture the character of your pet. You should send a selection of photos, but do specify your favourites. Please be aware, if photos are not suitable for painting from, I may request alternative pictures.

I can also do double portraits using images taken from separate photographs if necessary. Please ask for details.

I can work from photographic prints if sent by post, which I will scan and return to you.
